The leather crafting process does not happen in a day.  Patience is definitely a virtue of all leather workers.  Here is a quick overview of how most items are crafted in my shop.  After cutting the leather product to spec, I clean up the edges and tool the design.  After the tooling is complete, the piece is oiled and is left to dry.  The stain is then applied.  After the stain thoroughly dries, a protective top finish is applied.  Once dry, the item is buffed to a matte shine with a soft cloth.  Finally, the hardware is fastened and the piece is ready to be worn or used.  It can take a few days from start to finish to complete a leather bracelet, and even longer for more complicated items like clutches.  It is truly a labor of love.
